Round of applause for our Paralympians!
With the Paralympics drawn to an end, it is time to proudly welcome back our Aussie team!
This year, the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) signed the biggest sponsorship deal in its history with Toyota. It is a nine-year deal making Toyota a worldwide partner of the IPC in the category of vehicles, mobility services and mobility solutions. It’s said that this is the first time a sponsor has signed such an ‘all-encompassing’ deal with the IPC.
Toyota now has both Paralympic and Olympic sponsorship deals in place up to the end of the 2024 Games.
Toyota’s involvement however doesn’t stop there. They have also been a proud supporter of the Australian Paralympic Committee for over 12 years. The Australian Paralympic Committee (APC) strive to help change the lives and provide opportunities for people with disabilities, through sport. The APC are said to spent ‘every hour of every day selecting and preparing the Paralympic Team for each Games’. This support has had incredible impacts on Paralympians who had been apart of this year's games.
Each year Toyota commit's a minimum contribution of $100,000 to the APC's Cause Related Marketing Fundraising Program. In 2016 fundraising and involvement with the APC included:
- APC Parathon event activation at Martin Place, Sydney on Saturday the 5th of March
- Giant gold medal money box which which visited the Parathon and four dealerships throughout Australia in March and April
- Dealership events broadcast on Channel 7's Sunrise and feature Paralympic athletes
- Further support of the partnership and fundraising effort through Toyota ambassadors Michael Clarke, Libby Trickett, Steve Waugh, Guy Sebastien and former Paralympic skier Michael Milton
Toyota through both the Olympics and Paralympic games have shown tremendous support and backing. Here at Chatswood Toyota, we share the same support for all Australian teams involved, bring on 2020!
