Toyota’s Head Turning C-HR

In late February 2017, Toyota’s impressive new C-HR with ‘striking coupe-like styling, engaging driving dynamics and advanced cabin quality’ will be arriving down under.

Tony Cramb, Toyota’s Executive Director of Sales and Marketing reveal’s the

C-HR will be a ‘fresh approach’ and intended to ‘stand out’ alongside the Toyota line-up (2017).

The C-HR is designed with a fuel-efficient turbo charged petrol engine and dynamics providing a rewarding experience for driving enthusiasts.

Cramb states “It is stunning proof of the determination by Toyota to encourage greater stylistic freedom and engineering creativity in order to achieve eye-catching designs and enhanced driving pleasure”.

The C-HR also places emphasis on the benefits of being built by Toyota’s New Global Architecture-based platforms.

Some of the C-HR’s features consist of:

  • A GA-C platform allowing a low centre of gravity, which results in engaging a drivers experience
  • Exceptional handling and agility
  • Strictly controlled body roll
  • Full automatic with seamless shifting or a sequential seven-speed Sports mode.

The impressive C-HR will be Australia’s first Toyota vehicle set to equip a powerful yet efficient four-cylinder 1.2 litre turbocharged petrol engine.

“It offers performance levels equivalent to a significantly larger engine, but with lower fuel consumption and emissions” (Cramb,2017).

Customers will also be able to add tailor made features including heated seats, a smart entry and start system, privacy glass, leather-accented upholstery and 18-inch alloy wheels.

Furthermore, the C-HR is outfitted with standard advanced safety features including:

  • A pre-collision system with autonomous emergency braking
  • Adaptive cruise control
  • Lane departure alert with steering control
  • Automatic high beam and a reversing camera

According to Toyota Australia, Toyota SUV’s are the highest selling car bought from Australians by any other brand. This set’s a new record with 59,412 SUVs, 18,000 more vehicles ahead of its close contenders (Toyota Australia,2017).
